Ellie Koyander (born Elleanor Koyander on 23 March 1991) is a British Olympic mogul skier who competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics.
She was born in Chesterfield and attended the Lady Manners School.
She was born into a skiing family and doesn’t remember learning to ski! She started when she was 1 year and 9 months old whilst away on a family holiday in Italy. Her earliest memory of skiing was when she was about 5 entering her first race which is when she won her first medal. She joined the hugely successful Sharks Ski Club and trained as a Slalom racer at first but always had a ‘thing’ for moguls and freestyle skiing.
In 2002 after watching moguls skiing at the Olympics on tv, she decided to focus seriously on competitive moguls with ambitions of competing in the Olympics herself and hasn’t looked back since!
Ellie is now a full time athlete who competes at the highest level, world wide on the FIS World Cup circuit for freestyle moguls skiing. She has continued to excel every year and in 2010 she became the youngest female member of Team GB representing her country at the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
